Founded in 1909, Waikato Diocesan School for Girls is an integrated Anglican day and boarding school for girls in Years 9-13, with a roll of approximately 670 students. Waikato Itinerant Music Teacher

Waikato Itinerant Music Teacher Scheme

Part-time Vocal Waikato ITM Teacher for 2025 – up to 19 contact hours per week (0.95 FTTE) with the possibility of full time hours for the right candidate

Start date 28 Jan 2025 

The Waikato Itinerant Music Teacher Scheme (based at Waikato Diocesan School) is seeking a qualified, experienced, highly effective, resilient and inspiring Vocal Teacher for 2025. 

Applicants must have experience and skills in teaching a wide range of vocal styles; a good understanding of the music curriculum for years 9-13; the ability to assist with NCEA performance preparation and assessment up to NCEA Level 3.

The ability to develop, direct and sustain large vocal ensembles (Barbershop – Choral –SATB) and small vocal ensembles (quartets), to a competitive level, will be an advantage.

Flexibility within repertoire and a willingness to work with the varying requirements of a diverse range of music departments is expected. 

The successful applicant is required to have a current New Zealand teacher registration (preferred) or LAT (Limited Authority to Teach). A current driver's licence and own transport is also essential for travelling between allocated schools (a mileage allowance will be paid).

Teacher of English, permanent part-time

We have a vacancy for a permanent, part-time 0.6FTTE English Teacher starting Term 1, 2025, to join our supportive and collegial English department. The successful applicant will be an innovative, professional, and caring educator who can teach English across all year levels.

Science Lab Technician

Waikato Diocesan School for Girls is an integrated Anglican special character day and boarding school. With around 680 students, the school is committed to excellence with a strong emphasis on pastoral care. We have built an enviable reputation for outstanding academic, sporting and cultural performance and success.  

Reporting to the HOD Science, the key responsibilities of the Science Lab Technician are to provide preparation support to science staff for practical lessons, manage the science lab and resources, and provide administrative and technical support to the HOD and science teaching staff.

Key attributes sought for this role include initiative, strong communication skills and a high level

of attention to detail. The ability to form positive learning relationships with students, staff and the wider school community is essential. Previous experience in a similar role is also essential.

This is a part-time, permanent position for 25 hours per week and is term time only with the proposed start date being 30 January 2025.
