House Parent, Permanent Full-time

Waikato Diocesan School for Girls is an integrated Anglican day and boarding school for girls in Years 9-13, with a roll of approximately 670 students.  Reporting to the Director of Boarding, we are looking for an energetic, kind, calm and caring House Parent to work in our family friendly boarding environment. Nurturing our girls and helping them to reach their full potential is the key focus of this role.  

Key responsibilities for this role include ensuring students are cared for physically, emotionally and spiritually.  This role oversees the day-to-day operation of the boarding house, ensuring the girls’ boarding experience is positive and conducive to their learning and development.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills with the ability to foster positive harmonious relationships with staff, girls and families. Previous experience in a school and or boarding hostel is highly desirable.

This is a permanent full time role. The position is approximately 35 hours per week, and includes rostered overnight shifts and weekends.  On-site accommodation is provided with this position as the role requires on-site living. This position will be primarily supporting junior students in the boarding school.

You must be eligible to work in New Zealand and satisfactorily pass New Zealand Police vetting.

Assistant House Parent - Casual

Waikato Diocesan School for Girls is an integrated Anglican day and boarding school for girls in Years 9-13, with a roll of approximately 670 students. The school is committed to personal excellence with a strong emphasis on pastoral care. We have built an enviable reputation for outstanding academic, cultural and sporting performance and achievement.

Reporting to the Director of Boarding, we are looking for an energetic and caring Assistant House Parent to work on a casual, on-call basis in the friendly family environment of our Boarding establishment.

Nurturing our girls and helping them to reach their full potential is the key focus of this role. The Assistant House Parent is also required to provide support to staff and students, and facilitate day to day activities in the Boarding House, ensuring the boarding experience is positive and fulfilling for students and their families.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills with the ability to foster positive harmonious relationships with staff, girls and families. Previous experience in a school or boarding facility would be highly desirable.

This is a casual, part-time role, and is term time only. The role could include overnight shifts and weekends. On-site accommodation may be provided with this position if required.

You must be eligible to work in NZ and satisfactorily pass a NZ Police vetting.
